Rahul Dravid made his first ODI century against pakistan in May 1997,Independence cup match held at chidambaram stadium,Chennai.He scored 107 runs from 116 balls with 10 fours.


RAHUL DRAVID'S ONLY T20 

Rahul Dravid played only one T20 international that is his debut T20 and Last T20.Because in the Tour of England in June 2011 he surprisingly selected for ODI series and only T20 after a long time. At that time Rahul Dravid announced his Retirement from ODIS as well as from T20s.Rahul Dravid played his only and last T20 against England and he scored 31 runs from in 21 balls with three Massive sixes in SR Patel's over.India made 165 runs in 19.4 overs and England won the match by 6 wickets in 19.4 overs.

In February 2001 Australian cricket team came to India to play Border-Gavaskar Trophy scheduled as three test matches and 5 ODIS.Australia won the first test match by 10 wickets held at Wankhede stadium,Mumbai from 27 feb to 1 March 2001.The second test match has been scheduled from 11th to 15th March 2001 at Eden Gardens,Kolkata.

On first day of the match Australia captain Steve Waugh won the toss and he decided to bat first.Australia made 445 runs from 131.5 overs in their first innings. In reply India made only 171 runs from 58.1 overs in their first innings. Rahul Dravid scored 25 runs from 82 balls with 4 boundaries in first innings.Due low total of India's first innings Australia captain Steve Waugh asked India to follow-on. India batted again for their second innings.



In second innings indian openers began solidly but they didn't scored big scores.Tendulkar also out for 10 runs only.Indain captain Ganguly played bit well but he missed half century by two runs.Usually Rahul Dravid comes at no.3 but at that time he had struggled for runs for a while so that Laxman batted at 3 and Rahul Dravid batted at no.6.At the end of the day 3 India score was 252 on the board for the loss four wickets and still trail by 22 runs.On fourth day Rahul Dravid shows his Magic.Rahul Dravid scored 180 runs from 353 balls with 20 boundaries.Rahul Dravid and Laxman created a 5th wicket record partnership with 376 runs.Finally india won the second test match by 171 runs. Rahul Dravid shows some aggressiveness when he reached his century and celebrated in uncharacteristic fashion gesturing to the press box, having been criticised in the media for his recent poor form.


RAHUL DRAVID FIRST MATCH IN ODIS

Rahul Dravid made his ODI debut on 3 April 1996 against Sri Lanka in the Singer Cup held in Singapore. He scored just three runs from 4 balls before being dismissed by Muttiah Muralitharan with caught behind by kaluwitharana but Dravid took two catches in the match and india won this match by 12 runs.

Rahul Dravid scored his first test century in January 1997 in the third test against South Africa.This is his 15th innings in the 9th test match. He scored 148 runs from 362 balls with 21 boundaries in a nine hour innings and he made 81 runs from 146 balls in the 2nd innings but indian team managed to draw the test match and Rahul Dravid got the player of the match.



RAHUL DRAVID TEST DUBUT AT  LORDS:
In 1996 June Dravid was selected for the Indian squad touring England on the backdrop of a consistent performance in domestic cricket for 5 years. Fine performances in the tour games including fifties against Gloucestershire and Leicestershire failed to earn him a place in the team for the First Test. He finally made his Test debut at Lord's on 20 June 1996 against England in the Second Test of the series at the expense of injured senior batsman Sanjay Manjrekar, who was suffering from an ankle injury, was to undergo a fitness test on the morning of the Second Test. Dravid had already been informed that he would play if Manjrekar fails the test. Ten minutes before the toss, Sandeep Patil, the then Indian coach, went up to Dravid to inform him that he was indeed going to make his debut today.


Coming in to bat at no. 7, he forged important partnerships with another debutant Sourav Ganguly and his Karnataka team mates Kumble and Srinath securing a vital first innings lead for his team. Batting for more than 6 hours, he scored 95 runs before getting out to the bowling of Chris Lewis. Dravid was just 5 runs away from a landmark debut hundred when he nicked a Lewis delivery to the keeper and walked even before umpire's decision.



When asked about the walk, he quipped, "Everybody at the ground had heard the nick". He also took his first catch in Test cricket in this match to dismiss Nasser Hussain off the bowling of Srinath.In the next tour game against British Universities, Dravid scored a hundred. He managed to hold on to his position in the playing XI in the Third Test despite Manjrekar's return. Eventually Ajay Jadeja was dropped to accommodate Manjrekar in the team. Dravid went on to score 84 runs in the first innings of the Nottingham Test. Dravid concluded a successful debut series with an impressive average of 62.33 from 2 Test 
matches.
RAHUL DRAVID'S EARLY LIFERahul Dravid was born on 11th January 1973 at Indore,Madhya Pradesh in a Marathi family. His family later moved to Bangalore, Karnataka. His mother tongue is Marathi. Dravid's father worked for a company that makes jams and preserves. His mother, Pushpa, was a professor of Architecture at the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), Bangalore. Dravid has a younger brother named Vijay.

RAHUL DRAVID'S SCHOOLING & COLLEGE LIFE: Dravid did his schooling at St. Joseph's Boys High School, Bangalore and earned a degree in commerce from St. Joseph's College of Commerce, Bangalore. He was selected to India national cricket team while studying MBA in St Joseph’s College of Business Administration.

RAHUL DRAVID'S CRICKET LIFE: Rahul Dravid started playing cricket at the age of 12, and represented Karnataka at the under-15, the under-17 and the under-19 levels. Former cricketer Keki Tarapore first noticed Dravid's talent while coaching at a summer camp in the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Dravid scored a century for his school team. He also played as wicket-keeper. Dravid made his Ranji Trophy debut in February 1991, while he was still attending college. Playing alongside future Indian teammates Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath against Maharashtra in Pune, he scored 82 runs in the match, which ended in a draw. His first full season was in 1991–92, when he scored two centuries and finished up with 380 runs at an average of 63.3, getting selected for the South Zone cricket team in the Duleep Trophy.

In 2004, after completing his century against Bangladesh in Chittagong, he became the first and the only player till date to score a century in all the ten Test-playing countries.As of October 2012, he holds the record for the most number of catches taken by a player (non-wicket-keeper) in Test cricket, with 210.In August 2011, after receiving a surprise call in the ODI series against England, Dravid declared his retirement from ODIs as well as Twenty20 International (T20I), and in March 2012, he announced his retirement from international and first-class cricket. He appeared in the 2012 Indian Premier League as captain of the Rajasthan Royals.Rahul Dravid, along with Glenn McGrath were honoured during the seventh annual Bradman Awards function in Sydney on 1 November 2012.Dravid has also been honoured with the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan award, India's fourth and third highest civilian awards.In 2014, Rahul Dravid joined the GoSports Foundation, Bangalore as a member of their board of advisors. In collaboration with GoSports Foundation he is mentoring India's future Olympians and Paralympians as part of the Rahul Dravid Athlete Mentorship Programme.

RAHUL DRAVID'S PERSONAL LIFE: On 4 May 2003 he married Vijeta Pendharkar, a surgeon from Nagpur. They have two children: Samit, born in 2005, and Anvay, born in 2009. Rahul can proficiently speak Marathi, Hindi, Kannada and English.
