RAHUL DRAVD AT HIS CLASSY 180

In February 2001 Australian cricket team came to India to play Border-Gavaskar Trophy scheduled as three test matches and 5 ODIS.Australia won the first test match by 10 wickets held at Wankhede stadium,Mumbai from 27 feb to 1 March 2001.The second test match has been scheduled from 11th to 15th March 2001 at Eden Gardens,Kolkata.


RAHUL DRAVID 180 AT EDEN

On first day of the match Australia captain Steve Waugh won the toss and he decided to bat first.Australia made 445 runs from 131.5 overs in their first innings. In reply India made only 171 runs from 58.1 overs in their first innings. Rahul Dravid scored 25 runs from 82 balls with 4 boundaries in first innings.Due low total of India's first innings Australia captain Steve Waugh asked India to follow-on. India batted again for their second innings.



In second innings indian openers began solidly but they didn't scored big scores.Tendulkar also out for 10 runs only.Indain captain Ganguly played bit well but he missed half century by two runs.Usually Rahul Dravid comes at no.3 but at that time he had struggled for runs for a while so that Laxman batted at 3 and Rahul Dravid batted at no.6.At the end of the day 3 India score was 252 on the board for the loss four wickets and still trail by 22 runs.On fourth day Rahul Dravid shows his Magic.Rahul Dravid scored 180 runs from 353 balls with 20 boundaries.Rahul Dravid and Laxman created a 5th wicket record partnership with 376 runs.Finally india won the second test match by 171 runs. Rahul Dravid shows some aggressiveness when he reached his century and celebrated in uncharacteristic fashion gesturing to the press box, having been criticised in the media for his recent poor form.
